Truly Haunted?

Bill Nehring first opened his Dungeon doors on June 14, 1981. Originally created as an educational, historical tour through a recreated medieval Dungeon- Bill found that his guests ran screaming for the front door before he could finish his first remarks on the tour.

Unable to explain what startled his guests so badly, Bill did the only thing possible: he turned down the lights and started scaring people! And for the past 20 years the Dungeon has remained one of the scariest haunted houses in the world.

However, guests such as yourselves are not the only victims of the Dungeon. Over 14 employees have reported unexplainable experiences. All sorts of encounters have occurred; including tapping on the shoulder when there’s no one else there, glimpses of a luminescent figure is often seen inside, several photos taken inside the building have a mysterious white haze around the people, and an older man is seen who appears lost inside. He doesn’t speak, then disappears...

Strangely enough, these occurrences become more frequent and pronounced during electrical storms. Often times, when the actor inside feels something else inside there with them, our guests say out that the hair on their neck is standing up or they feel cold spots. Little do guests realize that it may be more than our scary actors that have them so freaked out!

Further research into the history of the Dungeon building itself revealed an interesting past. The building was originally a Ford Garage. Unfortunately, there were some tragedies at the garage. A loose spark blew up a customer, who was filling his motorcycle with gas right out front. A mechanic was killed in the back of the building when an engine block, hoisted up on chains in the ceiling, fell and crushed him. The tracks for the chains are still in the ceiling today. The final tragedy that occurred inside the building was a mechanic who shot and killed himself.

Our actors frequently feel that they are getting help from something else when they are scaring the guests. If you are lucky, or unlucky, you too may make contact with our supernatural hosts.

If you do, please share your experiences with us. We also like copies of any photos taken in our lobby in which manifestations show up.
